This is an introductory class, using quality materials and components with the emphasis on hands-on european techniques of quality hand made shoe construction.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Introductory 3 day class leads students through the process of fabricating a pair of open or peep toe mules in one of several prefabricated sole/heel styles. Although students do not entirely create their own design, they may choose upper colors, materials, decoration and sole/heel unit styles dependant on availability of selection on hand.
Learn hands on what goes into the fabrication of a ladies' pair of heels or platform shoes by making them with the guidance of an industry leader in time to wear them to the parade!

* Foot measuring techniques
* Basic introduction to patterns and patternmaking
* Basic introduction to uppers and upper construction
* Basic introduction to lasts and measurements
* Introduction to hand-lasting: Tacking & glueing.
* Introduction to cost analysis
MATERIALS INCLUDED IN THIS WORKSHOP:
* All leather, supplies and materials needed to make one pair of open toed mules or strappy style (one-two straps w/ available choice of heel/platform unit and simple decoration as time allows), from the soles up.
* Loaned use of all tools and equipment needed to make your shoes during the the class.
