The Shoe College offers hands on classes, courses and programs in traditional techniques of European hand made footwear. All classes and workshops are held in a working shoe lab in scenic Northern AZ. Classes are limited to 2-3 people to assure the utmost in personalized attention and greatest success.
Classes are led by shoe and accessories designer Tamera Lyndsay with over 20 years experience in the shoe and accessories design industry. Introductory classes may be taught by another qualified Shoe College instructor.

Tuition: $575 (us funds) COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Introductory class is appropriate for every level. Students create a made to measure sandal using traditional hand crafting techniques and tools.

TOPICS COVERED:
* foot measuring techniques
* introduction to sandal styles & patterns
* introduction to pattern making
* leathers & materials
* basic foot anatomy
* leather cutting and configurating
* assembly techniques (glueing, cobbling)
* finishing and fitting

MATERIALS INCLUDED IN THIS CLASS:
All materials and loaned use of tools and equipment to complete your sandals.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Fun 2 1/2 day workshop leads participants through the process of creating and designing a pair of mules from the heels up!
Learn hands on what goes into the fabrication of a ladies' pair of heels by designing and making them with the guidance of an industry leader.
Learn fun facts about the twisting history of the high heel.

Couture shoe and accessories designer Tamera Lyndsay proudly presents this hands on weekend workshop.

You'll be guided through the various processes from creating your own patterns to installing the shanks and lasting your very own new shoes.
All supplies and use of tools included to make your fabulous new pair of custom mules, designed and made by you, for you!

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a fast moving class which covers all the essentials which can later be applied to any type of footwear project the student will want to experiment with on his own.

Couture shoe and accessories designer Tamera Lyndsay proudly presents this hands on 5-day intensive workshop.

You'll be guided through the various processes from creating your own patterns to installing the shanks and lasting your very own new shoes.
Participants have a choice between making a unisex fully adjustable lasted shoe or a slide on loafer which incorporates all the skills required to make any other type of shoe.
Includes all supplies and use of tools to make your fabulous new pair of custom-made shoes, made by you, for you!

Literally "get down to brass tacks" and learn everything from how to measure a foot, to cutting/assembly of the uppers and lasting the shoes.
Students will learn to use all basic tools and materials and will have time to experience the use of the tools and equipment needed. They will be provided lists of contacts and suppliers to help get them started after their experience at The Shoe College.

You'll be amazed at the lasted shoes you'll make in this class with just a few basic tools and a bit of critical know-how. This is a practical "hands on" experience for those obsessed with shoes and gifted with a bit of the crafter or handyman in them.

All materials to make 1 pair of shoes provided.

Tools are loaned for the class.

* Hand-lasting: Tacking, welting & glueing. (Lasting methods will be introduced but due to time constraints, shoes made in the workshop will use the glueing method or tacking method.)

MATERIALS INCLUDED IN THIS WORKSHOP:

* All leather, supplies and materials needed to make one pair of shoes, from the soles up.
* Lists of suppliers for everything you'll need after the workshop is over: tools, supplies & equipment.
* Loaned use of all tools and equipment needed to make your shoes during the course.

COURSE LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students enter nine glorious days of boot heaven as they learn all the custom boot maker's top secret tricks of the trade. Students learn about leathers, foot measuring, fitting, finishing, welting, wooden pegs, stacking a leather heel, hand stitching side seams, installing toe caps, using crimping boards and so much more. Students make a standard wellington or western boot. Materials to make 1 pair of simple wellingtons and all use of tools and equipment for the duration of the class as well as lunch is included.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
The Certificate Program consists of either a minimum of 20 days of regularly scheduled class time, a minimum of 20 days of special course work or a combination of both. Students can use special course work to create prototypes or specisl projects and dispurse classes and course work over a year's time for convenience (must be completed within 1 year of the commencement of the first day of the program). Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive a certificate of completion and become elegible for professional recommendations by instructors and the director of The Shoe College. Contact us for specifics to your goals.
